1943年横浜生まれ。桑沢デザイン研究所卒業。内田デザイン事務所設立
日本を代表するデザイナーとして商・住空間のデザインにとどまらず、家具、工業デザインから地域開発に至る幅広い活動を国内外で展開。
代表作に、山本耀司のブティック、神戸ファッション美術館、ル・ベイン、チャンフン・アート・パーク、茶室「受庵・想庵・行庵」、
六本木ヒルズのストリート・ファニチャーなどのほか、ホテル イル・パラッツォ、門司港ホテル、京都ホテル・ロビー、オリエンタルホテル広島、
ザ・ゲートホテル雷門 by HULICなど ホテルの総合的デザインに取り組む
大学・スクール講師・客員教授、海外講演多数
2016年73歳で逝去

Biography&Lectures;
Born in Yokohama, Japan in1943. Graduated from Kuwasawa Design School in Tokyo .Established his own studio, Uchida Design Studio
As a designer representing Japan, I design not only the living space but the furniture, industrial design as well as the design of community facilities, both in Japan and abroad.
His Masterpieces include a Boutique of Yoji Yamamoto, Kobe Fashion Museum, Le Bain, Chanfun Art Park, JangHeung Art Park, Tea room ‘Ji-an’,’So-an’,’Gyo-an’, Street furniture of ‘Roppongi Hills’ etc.
Total design of the following hotels: Hotel Il Plazzo, Mojiko Hotel, Kyoto Hotel Lobby, Oriental Hotel Hiroshima, The Gate Hotel Raimon by HULIC and more.
University School Guest professor,many lectures in overseas.
Shigeru Uchida passed away on the 21st of November 2016
